The characteristics of our honey are determined by the varied flora found in the mountain range, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our beehives are located in a vast, non-agricultural area, where pesticides and plant protection products are not used, and there is no industrial or urban pollution.
In terms of woodland, Serra de Portel is dominated by montado, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. This ecosystem is home to a varied, typically wild, Mediterranean flora, including lavender and rockrose, among others. These plants are rich in nectar and pollen and are responsible for the characteristics of our products.
