The characteristics of our honey are determined by the varied flora found in the mountain range, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our beehives are located in a vast non-agricultural area, where pesticides and plant protection products are not used, and there is no industrial or urban pollution.
In terms of forest cover, Serra de Portel is dominated by montado woodland, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. This ecosystem supports a varied, wild, typically Mediterranean flora, with heather and rockrose among the most abundant plants. Rich in nectar and pollen, these plants are responsible for the characteristics of our products.
