The characteristics of our honey are determined by the varied flora found in the mountain range, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our hives are located in a vast non-agricultural area, free from the use of pesticides and plant protection products, as well as industrial or urban pollution.
In forestry terms, Serra de Portel is dominated by the montado ecosystem, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. It is therefore within this ecosystem that a spontaneous and varied flora develops, typically wild and Mediterranean in character, with rosemary and gum cistus predominating, among others, offering great nectar and pollen richness and responsible for the characteristics of our products.
