Our honey’s characteristics are determined by the varied flora found in the hills, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our beehives are located in a vast non-agricultural area, free from the use of pesticides and phytopharmaceuticals, as well as industrial or urban pollution.
In forestry terms, Serra de Portel is dominated by montado, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. It is therefore within this ecosystem that spontaneous and varied flora develops, typically wild and Mediterranean in character, with lavender and cistus predominating, among others. These plants are rich in nectar and pollen and are responsible for the characteristics of our products.
