The characteristics of our honey are determined by the varied flora found in the mountains, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our hives are located in a vast non-agricultural area where pesticides and plant protection products are not used, and there is no industrial or urban pollution.
In terms of woodland, Serra de Portel is dominated by montado, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. It is within this ecosystem that varied, typically wild Mediterranean flora grows, including lavender and rockrose, among others. These plants are rich in nectar and pollen and are responsible for the characteristics of our products.
