The characteristics of our honey are determined by the varied flora found in the hills, which is typically Mediterranean and gives it a unique quality. Our beehives are located in a vast non-agricultural area, free from the use of pesticides and phytopharmaceuticals, as well as industrial or urban pollution.
In terms of forest cover, Serra de Portel is dominated by montado, where holm oak and cork oak prevail. It is under this ecosystem that a spontaneous and varied flora develops, typically wild and Mediterranean in character, with rosemary and rockrose predominating, among others, providing great nectar and pollen richness and determining the characteristics of our products.
